Audio Phase issue???

I'm running Final Cut Pro 7 and been having isssues with some audio. I recorded video with a Canon 7D and used a small boom mike to record sound through the camera. The footage plays great on Final Cut... it plays great on my TV... plays great on my iPad... BUT I'm having issues when the footage is played on cell phones.

I was told that since phones are mainly mono, the audio track gets cancelled out. I was then told to shift the audio phase by 180 degrees. Well, I can't seem to be able to figure out how to do that in Final Cut Pro or Soundtrack Pro. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Just pan everything to center (aka Mono). No reason to have stereo on a mobile device.

I still have issues when the audio is converted to mono.

I just tried what you suggested and I'm not barely any audio and what audio there is hissing...

Send the track to Soundtrack Pro.

Select one of the two channels.

Once selected go to the menu Process > Invert.

This will restore the correct phase relationship.

Make sure you only do it to one of the the two channels.

Forgive my inexperience but how do I send just the audio track to Soundtrack Pro?

I opened the whole video clip in Soundtrack Pro and it won't allow me to select one of the audio tracks...
